About Chamba Chiles

Our Story

Once in Mexico City in 1979 a 10-year-old chamaquito decided to take his lunch into his own hands. He grabbed some traditional escabeche from Veracruz, chopped it up, and added it to a torta. Fresh, spicy, and spreadable, the chile mix was the perfect addition to his sandwich. And so Salsabéche was born.

Years later, that chamaquito grew up and moved to New York, where he tasted lots of condiments like mayo, relish, and hot sauce. They were nice, but he missed the heat of jalapeño chiles and the satisfying tang of pickled escabeche.

Now we’ve decided to bring Salsabeche to the people. Made with real jalapeño chiles and delivered in an easy-to-squeeze bottle, this traditional Mexican recipe is ready to go wherever you need it: at the taqueria, at the deli, at the cook-out, and more. It adds heat and fresh, pickled flavor to everything from quesadillas to sandwiches, from cheeseburgers to avocado test, and we especially recommend it on eggs. The sky’s the limit when it comes to Salsabeche.

An Original
Mexican
Recipe

Our recipe is inspired by the traditional escabeche and other pickled chile condiments from Veracruz. All over Mexico you’ll find escabeche in restaurants, taco carts, and people’s kitchens, ready to add that extra bit of chile that takes a dish to the next level.

All we’ve done to that recipe is chop it up and bottle it. It’s in an easy-to-squeeze bottle so you can add it wherever you want it: in sandwiches, to guacamole. Not too spicy and not too messy, Salsabeche is just right!

A traditional blend of chiles, onions, carrot, cauliflower, and spices, now in scoopable, squeezable form!

Can be added to: sandwiches, burritos, eggs, tuna salad, tortas, burgers, hot dogs, and anything else you can think of.
